The Voice Top 5

The games are coming close to the end on NBC's "The Voice." We are now left with only five contestants! Team Adam is still standing strong with his three contestants from last week: Tessanne Chin, Will Champlin, and James Wolpert. Team Blake is still in the running with Cole Vosbury, and Team Christina is left with the beautiful young lady with a voice full of soul, Jacquie Lee. Everyone in this photo above deserves to be in this competition in my opinion. Their voices are beyond amazing and they have proved that they can make it as an artist in this industry. I have my favorites of course but I would be happy for anyone who won the competition. Watch tonight as the Top 5 leave their souls out on the stage for your votes on NBC at 8pm/7c and make sure to vote! You can vote using the Facebook "The Voice Vote" App as well as the NBC website. The results will be broadcasted live at 9pm/8c, and if your favorites are in the bottom three you can still save them by, Tweeting the contestant's name with the hashtag #VoiceSave. Britney Spears Turns 32 Today!

Its Britney's Birthday!

On a lighter note from my last post, Miss Britney Spears' birthday is today!! Britney will be celebrating turning 32 today, and will be releasing her 8th studio album "Britney Jean" Tomorrow. It has been 15 years since the Pop Princess hit the music scene, and even before that she was a musketeer on disney's "Mickey Mouse Club" alongside fellow pop stars: Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake as well as actors Kerri Russell  and Ryan Gosling. Since Britney has hit the scene she has continuously changed the music industry, putting out hit after hit, selling millions of albums, and giving showstopping performances. From way back to "Baby One More Time" to todays "Work, Work" Britney has not stopped hitting number 1 and does not plan to anytime soon. Make sure to wish Brit a Happy Birthday, and don't forget to go buy your copy of "Britney Jean" tomorrow!

The Shock and Disbelief of "Fast and Furious" Star, Paul Walker's Death.

Tragic News has come. According to recent reports, actor Paul Walker of "The Fast and Furious" franchise, has passed at the early age of 40. This depressing news was first learned Sunday morning on  November 30th only two days after Thanksgiving. According to the reports Paul had attended a charity event earlier the night before and when he left with his close friend Rodger who was driving the car. The two reportedly lost control of the car and crashed into a tree making the car explode into flames. Since the recent reports rumors have gone around online insinuating that his death was a hoax and that Paul Walker is still alive since he had been a victim of a death hoax like many other celebrities, they day before even though an official statement was released on his official social media accounts by his rep. Along with many others it is hard for me to believe that he's gone. I would love for the hoax rumor to be true, or something be incorrect in the identification of the bodies in the crash. But with the confirmation made by his publicist it doesn't look like a hoax. Sadly we must say goodbye to a beloved, father, a caring man, and an amazing actor. Please send your prayers to his family and friends as well as his only child, 15 year old daughter Meadow. Rest in peace Paul Walker, and soar with the angels above. You are and will forever be remembered and greatly missed. Gone much too soon.  

"The Voice" Top 6.

I haven't posted in a while, because I have been busy with other things, but I am back and here to give you the 411 on latest eliminations made early this week on "The Voice." The top 8 left their hearts out on the stage when they performed on Monday, hoping that the people of America would save them. Tuesday, the eliminations began and you could clearly see the fear on each of the contestants faces. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to: soulful vocalist from Team Blake, Ray Boudreaux, and the last woman standing  from Team Ceelo, Caroline Pennell. The remaining teams are: Team Adam with all three of his members still standing from the top 8. Team Xtina with her remaining two from the top 8, and Team Blake's last man standing, Cole Vosbury. Sadly, Team Ceelo is out of the game. Don't forget to watch the Top 6 contestants perform for your votes Monday at 8pm on NBC. Catch the results the next day on the same channel an hour later. Good luck to all of you and "may the votes be ever in your favor."  

The Voice Top Ten

NBC's "The Voice" has now entered the Top 10 in it's live rounds. Last tuesday we said goodbye to soulful vocalist, Josh Logan and rocker Johnny Grey. This now leaves the Adam Levine and Blake Shelton with 3 artists each while Mr. Ceelo and Ms. Christina are left with only 2 artists each. The official list of the contestants that have made it to the Top 10 are: Cole Vosbury, Austin Jenckes, and Ray Boudreaux from Team Blake. From Team Adam we have: Will Champlin, James Wolpert, and Tessanne Chin. From Team Ceelo we have Caroline Pennell and Kat Robichaud. Finally from Team Xtina we have: Mathew Schuler and Jacquie Lee. Make sure you watch the live performances tonight on NBC at 8pm. Vote for your favorites and download their performances on the iTunes Music Store!

Britney Spears Has Everyone Crazy For Her New Single, "Perfume"

 I decided to derail from this weeks topic and talk about a new song thats hit the airwaves. Last Monday Britney Spears released a new song from her upcoming 8th studio album, "Britney Jean" Titled "Perfume." On this record Britney sheds all of the techno-dance beats of her previous single, "Work B****" and strips down to a more organic, but still pop, mid tempo beat and produces more emotive and rich vocals rather than her more robotic-baby like voice that made her famous. In the song Britney has suspicions that her lover is being unfaithful to her, but hopes that they aren't true as she sings "I want to believe it's just you and me. Sometimes it feels like there's three of us in here, baby." In the chorus she takes a more possessive tone, singing "While I wait I put on my perfume, yeah I want it all over you" I'm gonna mark my territory", Spears then she takes on a vengeful tone crooning, "I hide it well hope you can't tell, but I hope she smells my perfume." I actually like this song, as well as her previous releases, but this one has more appeal in my opinion than other songs that she has recently released, because it shows emotion and is not just another party record.

Review of Miley Cyrus' "Adore You"

I recently posted an announcement stating that I was going to be posting my thoughts on songs from Miley Cyrus' recent studio release "BANGERZ" and as promised I have chosen a song from the album to review for today and it is the first track of the album, "Adore You." In this song which is definitely meant for a wedding, Cyrus describes her love for a man who I am assuming is her ex-fiance,

Liam Hemsworth. In the opening of the song Miley wants to ensure that her lover is listening and questions where he has been all of her life. In the chorus, Cyrus describes the passion she feel for her lover singing: "When you say you love me know I love you more, and when you say you need me know I need you more, boy I adore you." In the second verse Cyrus continues to describe her love for her fiance at the time saying, "When your near me I feel like I'm standin' with an army." She then repeats how much she adores him in the chorus and in the final verse she states that she and her lover were meant to be and that "God knew exactly what he was doin when he put next to you." Cyrus then repeats the chorus until the song ends with a final note on the Piano. 

I enjoyed this song. It instantly made me feel that I was at a wedding watching the bride and groom have their first slow dance of the night. The music and melody fit the theme of the song perfectly. There was nothing too extravagant neither too boring it was perfectly fitting to the song and showed just the right amount of emotion. One of the highlights of the album.

Christina Aguilera Featured on duo, A Great Big World's New Track

Soulful Pop vocalist and coach of NBC's "The Voice" The one and only Christina Aguilera, has recently lent her vocals to a revision of an up and coming New York pop duo Professionally known as A Great Big World's emotional ballad "Say Something." The duo was shocked when they had learned that Xtina wanted to re-record the track with them. They were even shocked that she had heard the song. Christina describes the song as being sort of a plea for a response or a need to hear something. I just listened to the track last night and I have to say that the song is BEYOND beautiful. Aguilera showcases a softer side to her voice, leaving the amazing vocal acrobatics and lioness side of her voice, that we all love behind for the moment adding to the emotion and beauty of the song. I am always impressed by Miss Aguilera who never seems to disappoint, and am also eager to hear more from this new duo.  The song was just released on the iTunes Music Store today and will be performed tomorrow on the second live show of the season on NBC's "The Voice" at 8/7c .

Miley Cyrus' BANGERZ Reaches the top of the Charts!

Miley Cyrus' fourth studio album "BANGERZ" was released on October 8th and has surpassed her previous album sales coming in at #1 on the billboard top 200. Cyrus' previous album "Cant be Tamed" debuted at No.3 which some blame on the lack of strategy in the promotion of the album. But this time around Miley made sure that she was the spectacle of the year with her racy performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV Music Video Awards that had everyone talking and her shocking video for the single "Wrecking Ball" where she appears naked swinging on a wrecking ball. With millions of views on Vevo and many parodies as well as a hosting gig on  SNL she has surely succeeded in her plan.

I have not gotten the chance to listen to the full album yet, but from what I have heard "BANGERZ" seems to be a nice departure from her previous Teen-Pop sound into a more mature mixture of Urban, Dupstep sound with a splash of country. Billboard names P!nk "Woman of the Year"

Billboard has recently announced their choice for Woman of the Year and it is none other than the amazing, P!NK. After Almost 16 years in the Music industry she is finally getting the recognition she deserves. Since the release of her debut in "Can't Take Me Home" April 200 she has taken the music industry by storm with her daredevil attitude and her meaningful lyrics. Songs such as "Family Portrait", "Stupid Girls", and "Dear Mr. President" Are just some of the songs that speak on issues in the world that many people relate to and they have become anthem for many people all over the world.

Her sixth album, "The Truth About Love" has become an international success and is her first album to reach number one on the billboard charts. Along with it's sold out world tour which is full of daredevil acrobatics and NO LIP SYNCING!! She has become one busy woman this year.

I actually had the opportunity to attend one of her concerts in March of this year and it was amazing! The show started on an electrifying note with the singer entering from above the stage strapped in a harness singing one of her hits, "Raise Your Glass" and from there the energy level only intensified with even more terrifying stunts and amazing vocals that had me up on my feet and cringing, and singing along until the end. By the time the show was over I could not even stand. It will definitely be an experience that I will never forget and I would recommend that everyone at least once in their life go see a P!NK show.
